Maybe Your Next Move Is to Stop Moving!

You keep thinking you need to figure out your next move, fix your life, get more clarity, or finally “get into alignment.” But what if you’re not actually lost, you’re just exhausted, overstimulated, overthinking everything, and trying to make big decisions from a body that desperately needs you to slow the hell down?

Maybe Your Next Move Is to Stop Moving!

Hey love, have you considered that maybe the reason you’re feeling so out of alignment, out of place, or frankly, a little out of your damn mind is because you haven’t actually decided how you want to feel? I mean really decided.

How do you want to feel when you wake up? How do you want to move through your day? Where are you going? What are you creating? Who are you becoming? How do you want to show up in your business, your relationships, your body and your life?

Because if you haven’t consciously set an intention for any of that, you’re essentially waking up every morning and allowing the world around you to decide how you feel, what you focus on and what you believe you should be doing.

You check your phone and see someone else’s success. You read something that makes you question your strategy. You remember the thing you haven’t done. You think about the money that hasn’t come in yet. You wonder why the results aren’t showing up. You start asking yourself, What if this doesn’t work? How is this going to happen? What should I be doing? Am I on the right path? Should I be doing more? And after spending hours feeding your mind with questions, information, opinions and possibilities, you wonder why you feel disconnected from yourself. Your brain has been running at a hundred miles an hour all day, and then you’re surprised that you can’t hear your own thoughts clearly.

Maybe this is why “just be still” sounds like terrible advice. You’ve probably already tried it. You sit down for ten minutes, close your eyes and suddenly your brain produces an entire catalogue of everything that could possibly go wrong with your life. "What if it doesn’t work? Why hasn’t it happened yet? What should I do next? Should I pivot? Should I quit? Should I try harder? Should I be doing more?"

Then you decide that you must be too anxious, too busy or too “in your head” to be still. But perhaps the problem is not that you’re incapable of being still. Perhaps you’ve simply become so accustomed to constant stimulation that silence feels uncomfortable.

So yes, take ten minutes. But don’t turn those ten minutes into another task you have to perform correctly. Put the phone down. Go outside. Sit somewhere without a screen. Walk. Breathe. Touch grass, literally. Let your brain come down from the constant barrage of information and decisions you’ve been feeding it. You don’t need to spend those ten minutes figuring out your purpose, manifesting your next level or solving your entire life. You might simply need to give yourself enough quiet to notice what has been there underneath all the noise.

And while we’re talking about noise, let’s talk about exhaustion, because I think we have become incredibly good at spiritualising something that is sometimes very much physical. Why are you so depleted when you haven’t even done that much physically? Because mental energy is still energy. Constantly thinking, worrying, anticipating, comparing, scrolling, consuming, planning, second-guessing and trying to control outcomes is exhausting. If you’re doing all of that while sleeping badly, barely moving, eating whatever you can grab between commitments and running on caffeine, it is hardly surprising that you feel like a zombie.

Your body is not being inconvenient when it tells you that something needs to change. It is giving you information. If you are chronically underslept, constantly overstimulated and mentally exhausted, you cannot simply demand more clarity, creativity, motivation and productivity from yourself and then call it a mindset problem when they don’t appear. Sometimes the most useful thing you can do for your business, your relationships and your future is to take care of the woman who has to actually live all of it.

We also need to stop romanticising exhaustion as evidence of ambition. Being tired all the time does not automatically mean you are working hard enough, and being busy all the time does not automatically mean you are building something meaningful. There is a difference between being committed to a big vision and constantly abandoning your physical and emotional needs in pursuit of it. If your version of ambition requires you to permanently operate on four hours of sleep, ignore your body, live inside your head and never actually experience the life you are supposedly working so hard to create, perhaps the problem isn’t that you need to work harder.

Perhaps you need to change how you are living.

And I know that sounds obvious, but look at how often we do the opposite. We say we want to feel different while continuing to make the same choices that produce the way we currently feel. We want clarity while constantly consuming more information. We want confidence while repeatedly second-guessing ourselves. We want peace while filling every available moment with noise. We want energy while neglecting sleep. We want to feel present while spending half the day somewhere inside our phones and the other half worrying about a future that hasn’t happened yet.

Then we call the resulting exhaustion “misalignment.”

Maybe it is misalignment. But maybe you are simply tired. Maybe you are overstimulated. Maybe you are disconnected from your body because you’ve been living almost entirely inside your head. Maybe you haven’t slept properly in weeks! Maybe you haven’t given yourself a genuinely quiet moment in months. Maybe you’ve become so focused on getting somewhere else that you have stopped being present for the life you are actually living.

And if you don’t like the way you are living, you are allowed to change it. In fact, eventually, you have to. Because you can spend years analysing why you feel stuck, searching for signs, questioning whether you are on the right path and waiting for some enormous moment of clarity, while the actual answer is sitting right in front of you: sleep more, slow down, take care of your body, stop consuming everyone else’s opinions, make the decision you have been avoiding and start living with some fucking intention.

That doesn’t mean ignoring your ambitions or settling for less. It means creating enough internal and physical capacity to actually hold the life you say you want. Your dream business still requires you to have a functioning body. Your big goals still require a brain that isn’t permanently fried. Your next level still needs a woman who can sustain it, not just chase it.

So before you decide that you need to change your entire life, ask yourself something much simpler. Have you been sleeping properly? Have you been taking care of yourself? Have you spent time outside without your phone? Have you moved your body? Have you had moments where you weren't consuming, achieving, planning or fixing something? Have you actually decided how you want to feel and what kind of woman you want to be while building the life you want?

Because alignment isn’t always some enormous spiritual revelation where suddenly everything makes sense. Sometimes alignment looks remarkably ordinary. It looks like going to bed when you’re tired instead of squeezing one more thing into the day. It looks like putting your phone down, taking a walk, eating a proper meal, making the decision you’ve been avoiding, saying no when you mean no, resting without feeling guilty and allowing yourself to enjoy something without needing it to be productive.

Sometimes it might even look like getting your fucking nails done because you suddenly realise that you’ve been treating yourself like a machine whose only job is to produce results.

You don’t necessarily need to find a new path. You may simply need to come back to yourself long enough to hear what you already know. And before you label what you’re experiencing as a lack of alignment, a spiritual block or some mysterious sign that you’re on the wrong path, consider the possibility that your body is asking for something much more basic.

Maybe you don’t need another answer, girl. Maybe what you really need is some uninterrupted sleep.
