Wings and Roots: Why I Choose to Build Before I Fly
Personal Branding Mentor helping students and career-gap women build confidence, visibility, and opportunities.

Wings and Roots: Why I Choose to Build Before I Fly
We often celebrate people who spread their wings. We admire those who achieve great success, build remarkable careers, travel the world, and reach impressive milestones. Their stories inspire us to dream bigger and aim higher.
But there is another kind of success that deserves equal recognition.
Some people are born to spread their roots.
Roots are invisible, yet they hold everything together. They provide strength, stability, and nourishment. Without strong roots, even the tallest tree cannot survive. The same is true in life. Before we can grow higher, we need values, purpose, and a foundation that supports not only our own journey but also the journeys of others.
For many years, I believed success meant spreading my wings as quickly as possible. Life, however, had a different plan. After completing my education, I experienced a long career gap due to family responsibilities. Like many women, I paused my professional dreams while focusing on my family. At one point, I wondered if I had missed every opportunity.
That changed when I started learning again. More importantly, I discovered the power of personal branding and LinkedIn. I realized that visibility is not about becoming famous. It is about becoming discoverable, building credibility, and sharing knowledge consistently.
Today, I am a Personal Branding Mentor, and my mission is simple: help students, career-gap women, and non-technical learners believe in themselves before the world believes in them.
Many students work hard to develop technical skills but never learn how to communicate their value. They earn certificates but struggle to build confidence. They wait until graduation to create a professional identity. I believe this can change.
Personal branding is not about self-promotion. It is about authenticity, consistency, and meaningful contribution. A well-crafted LinkedIn profile, thoughtful content, genuine networking, and continuous learning can open doors that many people never imagined.
At this stage of my life, I am consciously choosing to spread my roots.
Every workshop I conduct, every student I encourage, every woman I inspire to restart her career, and every conversation about career development, career guidance, professional networking, and digital presence is another root growing deeper.
Do I want to spread my wings? Absolutely.
I dream of reaching more educational institutions, speaking on bigger stages, collaborating with organizations, and helping thousands of learners discover the importance of personal branding. Those are my wings.
But I know that lasting growth begins with strong roots.
When we invest in people, share knowledge generously, and help others rise, we create an impact that extends far beyond our own achievements. Success is not measured only by how high we fly but also by how many lives grow stronger because of our presence.
So, my message is simple.
Spread your wings when the time is right.
But never underestimate the power of spreading your roots.
Because wings may help us reach new heights, but roots ensure that our growth creates a lasting legacy for generations to come.
