There are moments in life when everything seems to be going according to plan, and then there are moments that completely change your direction. Looking back, I realize that every career break, every challenge, every failure, and every leap of faith has shaped the person I am today.

My name is Shefali Arora, Founder & Director of Rashiv Cloud Solutions. With 16+ years of experience across software engineering, academia, corporate training, cloud computing, and AI, I have had the privilege of helping thousands of learners and professionals build successful careers in technology. Today, I deliver corporate training programs across the globe, speak at technology conferences, mentor aspiring cloud professionals, and actively contribute to the tech community.

If there's one belief that has guided my journey, it is this:

A Dream Beginning

Like many young engineers, I began my career in 2005 with my dream company, Satyam Computers. It was an exciting start filled with learning, opportunities, and aspirations for a successful corporate career.

Life, however, had different plans. As my family grew, I chose to prioritize motherhood and took a career break. Returning to work after a gap wasn't easy, but I believed that learning could always open new doors. I invested in certifications, upgraded my skills, and successfully re-entered the IT industry.

Soon, I realized that balancing a demanding corporate role with my growing family required a different path. Rather than seeing it as a setback, I chose to reinvent my career once again.

Choosing Growth Over Comfort

I pursued my Master's degree in Computer Science while beginning my journey as an engineering college professor. Teaching gave me a sense of purpose and allowed me to shape the careers of future engineers while continuing my own learning journey.

Another relocation and another career break meant starting over once again.

Like many women, my career wasn't a straight line.

But I never stopped learning.

Every transition became an opportunity to gain new knowledge, explore emerging technologies, and prepare myself for the next chapter.

Discovering My Passion for Cloud Computing

After moving to Bangalore, I joined another engineering college as an Assistant Professor. It was here that I discovered AWS Cloud Computing.

What started with earning my first AWS certification quickly became a passion. I continued learning beyond my regular work hours, eventually earning the AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification and becoming the first faculty member in my institution to achieve it.

Learning wasn't just helping me grow professionally—it was changing the way I looked at my future.

I realized that staying relevant in technology means embracing lifelong learning, regardless of your role or experience.

The Power of Community

One of the biggest turning points in my career didn't come from a certification or a job opportunity.

It came from the community.

Through LinkedIn and the AWS community, I connected with mentors, industry experts, and professionals who generously shared their knowledge and experiences. Their guidance helped me understand what was possible and encouraged me to dream bigger.

Inspired by these connections, I decided to pursue becoming an AWS Authorized Instructor.

My first attempt didn't go as planned.

I failed the Instructor Certification Assessment.

It was disappointing, but it also taught me how much deeper I needed to learn.

Instead of giving up, I reached out, sought guidance, learned from experts, improved my technical depth, and prepared again.

Three months later, I successfully earned the AWS Authorized Instructor credential.

That experience reinforced one important lesson:

Communities don't just help you grow—they give you the confidence to keep going when you need it the most.

Taking the Leap of Faith

Preparing for the Instructor assessment demanded complete focus.

I found myself standing at a crossroads—continue with the security of a full-time job or take a leap of faith toward a bigger dream.

I chose growth over comfort.

I resigned from my full-time position without another job in hand and dedicated myself entirely to mastering AWS.

It was a risky decision, but with the unwavering support of my family, countless hours of learning, and a determination to succeed, it became one of the best decisions of my career.

Building a Global Career

Becoming an AWS Authorized Instructor opened doors I had never imagined.

I started delivering AWS training programs, mentoring learners, and collaborating with organizations across different countries.

Today, I have had the privilege of delivering Cloud and AI training programs to learners and professionals around the world, helping individuals from diverse technical and non-technical backgrounds transition into successful technology careers.

Whether it's corporate workshops, Train-the-Trainer programs, conference sessions, or technical mentoring, every interaction reminds me why I chose this path.

Success became more meaningful because it wasn't just my own—it was reflected in the achievements of my learners.

Giving Back to the Community

The technology community played a significant role in shaping my career.

Whenever I had questions, there was always someone willing to guide me.

Whenever I felt uncertain, there were mentors who encouraged me to keep moving forward.

Today, I believe it is my responsibility to give back in the same way.

I actively mentor aspiring cloud professionals, contribute technical content, speak at conferences, participate in community initiatives, and encourage others to embrace continuous learning.
