AUTHORITY: BECOME KNOWN FOR WHAT YOU KNOW
Authority is not about having the loudest voice or the biggest following. It is about becoming known for your knowledge, experience, and ability to create value. When you consistently share what you know, people begin to recognize you as someone worth listening to.

AUTHORITY: BECOME KNOWN FOR WHAT YOU KNOW
When I hear the word authority, I don’t think about a title, position, or number of followers.
I think about one simple question:
“What do people come to you for?”
That, to me, is authority.
You don’t become an authority by simply calling yourself an expert.
You become one by consistently sharing your knowledge and helping people solve problems.
When I started my journey on LinkedIn, I wasn’t trying to position myself as an authority.
I was simply sharing what I was learning.
I shared my experiences.
I wrote about personal branding.
I spoke about visibility.
I conducted sessions.
I helped people understand LinkedIn.
And slowly, people started associating my name with these topics.
That is when I understood something important:
Authority is built through repetition and value.
If you want to become known for something, talk about it consistently.
Teach what you know.
Share what you have learned.
Explain what others may find difficult.
Share your experiences.
Talk about the mistakes that taught you something.
Most importantly, help people.
You don’t need to know everything.
You just need to know something well enough to make it easier for someone else.
This is especially important in today’s digital world.
Your LinkedIn profile is not just a résumé.
Your content can become a public demonstration of your expertise.
Every useful post becomes another piece of evidence.
Every article shows how you think.
Every session demonstrates your ability to communicate.
Every recommendation adds social proof.
Over time, these small pieces create a bigger picture.
This is how authority grows.
As a Personal Branding Mentor, I believe you don’t need to chase authority.
You need to earn it.
Don’t try to sound like an expert.
Try to be useful.
Don’t copy someone else’s voice.
Develop your own perspective.
Don’t focus only on telling people what you know.
Show them how your knowledge can help.
And don’t disappear after one successful post.
Consistency matters.
Because authority is not created in one day.
It is created when people repeatedly see you showing up, sharing value, and contributing to the same area over time.
Your followers may increase.
Your opportunities may increase.
But the real milestone is when someone says:
“When I need help with this, I think of you.”
That’s authority.
Visibility helps people discover you.
Credibility gives them a reason to trust you.
Authority makes them remember you for your expertise.
And that is the kind of personal brand worth building.
