She Almost Quit On Day One. Today, She Is Building Confidence In Thousands
She almost gave up before she even began.
With no roadmap, no mentor, and many moments of self-doubt, she had one choice - to take one more step. This is a story of fear, resilience, and how a small decision to continue can slowly change everything.

On my very first day of junior college, I came home and told my father, "I don't want to continue."
Not because I had no dreams. I was just scared.
I struggled to understand what was being taught, felt lost in the classroom, and started questioning whether I was capable enough to continue. Looking back today, that moment could have been the end of my story. But it became the beginning of everything.
I come from a middle-class family where, in earlier generations, girls were not always encouraged to pursue higher education, build careers, or become independent. There was no roadmap, no mentor, and no one around me in technology who could guide me.
English was my third language. Many times I sat in class understanding the words but not the meaning behind them, and that gap made me feel underconfident, afraid, unsure of myself. I watched others move ahead while I was still trying to find my place. There were moments when fear and embarrassment made me think about giving up for good.
But I chose to continue.
I started with small steps. I walked into interviews shaking, said the wrong things, got rejected, and went home and tried again. Every "no" taught me something the last one hadn't. Slowly, without realizing it, I was building something steadier than confidence I was building proof to myself that I could keep going.
Before entering my twenties, I became independent - financially and personally, and discovered I could stand on my own.
My journey eventually led me to cybersecurity. What started as curiosity became a career built through continuous learning, persistence, and the courage to keep improving, one uncomfortable lesson at a time.
Over the years, I grew into a Senior Security Engineer. Somewhere along the way, I found another purpose: helping others grow. Through workshops, training programs, and mentorship, I have had the opportunity to guide more than 3,000 students and aspiring professionals into this field.
But the most meaningful moments were never the numbers or titles.
They are the moments when young girls from my own family, and students I've mentored, look at me and say, "I want to become like you." Those words take me straight back to the girl I once was - the one who was afraid, uncertain, wondering if she could make it at all.
I am sharing my story not because my journey was perfect, but because I know there are people standing exactly where I once stood, carrying the same doubts I carried. If this helps even one person believe in themselves a little more, then every hard day was worth it.
My journey is still continuing. I am still learning, still growing, still building.
Sometimes, all you need is the courage to take the next step.
The girl who almost walked away is still moving forward.
